Kate Breslin, LCSW

Relationship and Sex Therapist

(She, Her, Hers)

Hi, my name is Kate Breslin and I am the founder of Kate Breslin Therapy. I specialize in relationship and sex therapy in Colorado and I am excited to see if I am the right fit for you.

My Story:

I have always had a comfort discussing sex and intimacy. Picture the kid on the playground who was the go to sexpert for early birds and bees questions.

Initially, I tried to channel this comfort into becoming an OB/GYN. While interning in medical settings in college, I volunteered for a sexual assault crisis hotline and soon realized that what I really valued was building the human connection necessary to get through vulnerable moments.

My alma mater, Washington University in St. Louis, has an acclaimed program in social work and a specialization in sexual health and therapy—I happily immersed myself.

Through graduate school and beyond, I have learned that relationships with ourselves and others are a critical source of healing and peace. I would be honored to help you access that potential.

In addition to engaging with clients directly, I enjoy helping other clinicians grow and develop. I accomplish this through clinical supervision, consultations, trainings, and guest speaking.

In 2020, I joined the faculty at Denver Family Institute, a local post graduate program for marriage and family therapists.  There, I teach “Sexual Diversity, Attitudes, and Behaviors,” a course that explores a wide range of sexual expressions including kinks, fetishes, and sex work.

Outside of my work connecting with others, you will typically find me outdoors camping, fishing or, most often, reading in a hammock (speculative fiction and novels diving into family dynamics preferred) or working on my next knitting project with my purring cat or overzealous dog near while I watch a good movie.

My Philosophy of Change:

I believe sex and relationships are the ultimate culmination of connection and vulnerability. This gives them the potential to be a source of actualization, despair and everything in between. I have found that my life purpose is to help others tap into the positive end of that spectrum of potential.

Though I was drawn to the mental health field to specifically work through the lens of sex and relationships, I have found overtime that my work with clients often centers around cultivating self-awareness and self-compassion. It thrills me to watch these two essential tools allow my clients to lean into their authentic selves from an inner source of confidence.

I bring confidence, intellect, flexibility, ease, and humor to the session as we walk the delicate balance together between meeting you where you are and challenging you to go deeper.
